INTRODUCING THE PHP CUBED TEAM
Liam Ardagh - PROJECT MANAGER
Currently completing the final year of my MEng Aeronautical Enginering (With Sandwich year) degree attaining a first class-level of results. My sandwich year was undertaken at a multi-national defence company called MBDA working withing their future-projects team; where one of my responsibilities was in helping to manage technology incubation research teams across the UK. This gave me visibility of a number of emerging technologies as well as a strong understanding for the project-management and key-deliverable qualities required for a sucessful, low TRL, projects in industry.
Tom Critchley - ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST
Entering the fourth year on an Aeronautical Engineering (MEng) degree at the University of Brighton and am currently achieving a First class. I developed a passion for space exploration after my bachelor’s degree project to Design a Mission to the Moon. During this project I focused on orbital mechanics which inspired me to put my name forward for this project.
Georgie Crewdson - LOGISTICS AND FINANCIAL COORDINATOR
Currently studying for a master’s degree in mechanical engineering, my field of interest lies in fluid dynamics and aerospace engineering. This stems mainly from my yearlong placement with the British aerospace company AS Aerospace & ADF Ltd, specialising in helicopter maintenance and modification design. My skills include experiment design and data analysis enhanced by my bachelor’s project that focused on experimental investigation of leak repair additives in automotive cooling systems as well as CFD simulation and analysis. I am also fluent in French, having lived in France for 12 years.
Alex Evans - MECHANICAL DESIGN SPACIALIST
Enroled on a Mechanical Engineering (MEng) degree with optional sandwich year (year in industry) currently attaining a First. My industry placement was at the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl). Interested in R&D, with experience in development of future technologies for defence. Skills include design, simulation, experimentation, including design and simulation of system components with regards to their affect on radar signal. Also experience in infrared imaging and analysis. Used Particle Image Velocimtery (PIV) and windtunnel testing for bachelor's degree project.
Matteo Pontecorvo - PULSATING HEAT PIPE SPECIALIST
Currently enrolled on an Aeronautical Engineering (MEng) degree at the University of Brighton, with a passion for thermodynamics and space exploration. During my time at University, I undertook relevant subjects such as thermodynamcis, fluid mechanics and materials engineering. Before attending University, I worked as a Test Centre trainee for the Test Centre department of Termomeccanica SpA. I speak two languages, Italian and English at a native and advance level respectively
